Draft, pending legal review
This is a plain-English draft written before launch. It describes how Dibs is designed to work, but it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet and may change before it takes effect. Last updated November 7, 2026.
1.Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using Dibs, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. You need to be at least 16, and old enough to form a contract where you live. If you use Dibs for a business, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.
2.What Dibs does
Dibs watches public listings on Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji and eBay for searches you save, and alerts you when new listings match. It also shows resale estimates, scam flags and profit calculations, and lets you track your flips.
Dibs isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of Meta, Kijiji or eBay. We don't sell items, process purchases or take part in your deals. Every transaction is between you and the seller, on their terms and the marketplace's.
3.Alerts, estimates and flags
We work hard to make alerts fast and accurate, and we show the alert speed openly, but we can't guarantee that every listing will be caught, or caught within a set time. Marketplaces change, go down and limit access, and that's outside our control.
Resale estimates, deal scores, fee calculations and scam flags are informed guesses based on available data. They aren't financial advice or a guarantee about any listing, seller or price. Check items and sellers yourself before you pay.
4.Plans, trials and billing
How paying for Dibs works:
- The Free plan is free with no card needed and no time limit.
- New accounts get 7 days of Pro. When the trial ends you move to Free automatically; we never charge you unless you choose a paid plan.
- Paid plans renew monthly or yearly until you cancel. Prices are shown before you pay and are in USD unless stated otherwise. Taxes may apply.
- If we change a price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.
5.Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel any time in one tap from the app or the website. You keep paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free. If you were charged by mistake or something went wrong with billing, email [email protected] and we'll put it right. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under consumer protection law where you live.
6.Using Dibs fairly
Please don't:
- use Dibs to harass sellers, spam listings or break a marketplace's rules;
- resell, scrape or redistribute our alerts or data, or share one account between many people;
- try to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or get around plan limits;
- use Dibs for anything illegal, including buying or selling stolen or prohibited items.
7.Your account
Keep your sign-in secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk; where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it.
8.Our responsibility
We provide Dibs “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for missed deals, purchases that go wrong, losses from relying on estimates or flags, or indirect losses. Where we are responsible, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
9.Changes and ending
We may update these terms as Dibs changes. For meaningful changes we'll email you at least 30 days ahead. You can delete your account at any time; we can end the service with reasonable notice and a pro-rated refund of any prepaid time.
10.Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless your local consumer law says otherwise. Questions about these terms: [email protected].
