Most flips are won or lost at the buy
Experienced resellers will tell you the money is made when you buy, not when you sell. Pay too much and no amount of good photos fixes it. Pay a fair price for something that sits for three months and your cash is stuck.
So the useful questions come before you message the seller: what does this actually sell for, how fast, and what's left after fees and shipping? Dibs puts those answers on the alert itself.
From alert to sold
The same tools work whether you flip one thing a month or fifty.
- 1
Spot it first
Watchlists on Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji and eBay alert you the moment a matching listing goes up, as often as every 20 seconds.
- 2
Check the comps
Each alert shows what the item recently sold for and the profit left after estimated eBay fees, plus a scam flag if something looks off.
- 3
Track the flip
Mark it bought, then sold. The tracker keeps your buy price, sale price, fees and shipping, and adds up what you've really made.
Sold-price comps, not asking prices
Searching active listings to price something is the classic beginner's mistake: you're looking at what sellers want, including all the overpriced stuff that never sells. Dibs bases its resale estimate on recent sold prices for the same item, so the number is grounded in what buyers paid.
On Pro, each alert also gets a deal score that compares the asking price with those sold prices, so the strongest matches stand out in a busy feed.
- Resale value from recent sold listings
- Deal score on every match (Pro)
- Price-drop alerts for listings you're watching (Pro)
Profit after eBay fees, worked out for you
If you sell on eBay, fees take a real share. For most categories the final value fee is a little over 13% of the total sale, plus a per-order fee. Add shipping and a $200 spread can shrink to $110. Dibs subtracts estimated fees and shipping so the profit you see is the one you'd actually bank.
Fee rates vary by category and change from time to time, so the tracker lets you replace the estimate with the real numbers once the sale closes.
A flip tracker that doesn't need a spreadsheet
Most resellers end up with a spreadsheet they stop updating in March. The flip tracker lives next to your alerts: when you buy something from a match, it's one tap to log it, and one more to mark it sold. You see the profit on each flip and your running total.
Pair it with alerts for Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji and eBay, and the whole loop from finding to selling sits in one place. If you're coming from another tool, see how we compare with Flipify and Swoopa.
Flipping tools: questions
Where do the resale prices come from?
From recently sold listings for the same or a closely matching item, not from asking prices. Asking prices tell you what people hope to get; sold prices tell you what buyers actually paid.
Which eBay fees are included in the profit?
An estimate of eBay's final value fee for the item's category plus the per-order fee, and shipping if you enter it. Promoted listing fees, your seller level and currency conversion can change the real figure, so the tracker lets you overwrite it with what you actually paid.
Is the flip tracker included in the Free plan?
Yes. You can log flips on any plan. Pro adds deal scores on alerts and price-drop alerts; Power adds more watchlists, faster checks and Discord or webhook alerts.
Does Dibs buy or sell anything for me?
No. You message sellers, pay and list items yourself, on your own accounts. Dibs finds the deals, does the maths and keeps the record.
Is this only for full-time resellers?
No. Plenty of people flip a few things a month on the side. The tools are the same; you'll just use fewer watchlists.
Know the profit before you hit send
