Buy It Now deals go fast
Most of eBay is priced fairly, which is exactly why the exceptions are worth catching. A seller clearing a closet lists a camera body at half its sold price, or picks the wrong category, and a watcher with a fast alert buys it before anyone else sees it.
eBay's saved-search emails are fine for keeping an eye on prices. They aren't built to reach you inside a minute. Dibs is, and it tells you on every alert how fast it was.
How eBay alerts work
Works on eBay.ca and eBay.com, alongside Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji.
- 1
Set your search and price
Type the item, set a max price and pick Canada or the US. Choose ships-to-me, local pickup or both, and add words to exclude, like “parts” or “read”.
- 2
We watch new listings
Every 15 minutes on Free, every minute on Pro and every 20 seconds for up to 5 priority watchlists on Power, around the clock.
- 3
See the profit, then buy
Each alert shows the recent sold price and your estimated profit after eBay fees. Tap through and buy from your own eBay account.
Profit after eBay fees on every alert
A listing at $600 that sells for $800 isn't $200 of profit. eBay's final value fee for most categories is a little over 13% of the sale, plus a per-order fee, and then there's shipping. Dibs does that maths for you on the alert, so a quick yes or no is actually informed.
The numbers come from recent sold listings, not asking prices, and the estimate tells you which category rate it used. Fee rules change, so treat it as a strong guide rather than an invoice.

- Estimated eBay fees and shipping taken off
- Deal score on Pro, so the best matches stand out
Scam and fake-listing checks
eBay's buyer protection covers a lot, but a refund three weeks later still costs you the flip. Dibs flags listings that look wrong, such as a price far under recent sales from a brand-new seller with no feedback, and says why. You decide; we just make sure you notice.
One feed for every marketplace
Many resellers buy locally and sell on eBay. Dibs fits that: watch Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji for buys, and use eBay sold prices to price them. The flip tracker keeps the numbers once you've bought.

eBay alerts: questions
Doesn't eBay already email me about saved searches?
It does, and for casual shopping that's often enough. Saved-search emails aren't designed to arrive within a minute of a listing going up, though, and underpriced Buy It Now listings rarely last longer than that. Dibs checks on a fixed schedule and shows how long after posting each alert was caught.
Does Dibs work with eBay.ca and eBay.com?
Yes. Choose Canada or the US for each watchlist. You can also limit results to items that ship to you or to local pickup near a city.
Can I get alerts for auctions ending soon?
Dibs focuses on new listings, mainly Buy It Now, because that's where speed decides who gets the deal. Auction sniping is a different problem and we don't do it.
How is profit after eBay fees worked out?
We take the recent sold price, subtract an estimate of eBay's final value fee for the category and a per-order fee, then subtract shipping if you add it. It's an estimate: your seller level, promoted listings and category can change the real number.
Do I need to connect my eBay account?
No. Dibs never asks for marketplace logins. Alerts link to the public listing and you buy from your own eBay account.
